Contracture

Contracture is a benign trauma at the start, which occurs after an intensive training session or after aching.
Contractures generally affect the thighs, calves, buttocks and the vertebral grooves.

A contractured muscle is shortened and as a result it keeps its tendons under permanent tension, with the risk of developing tendinitis.

If the intensive training is extended, the consequences will be more serious: elongation or strained muscle.

Painful to the touch, the contracture can easily be recognised by the lumps which it causes under the skin.

Good massaging remains the best treatment.
